Tourists are flocking to Da Nang for the April 30 - May 1 holiday, putting hotels at risk of being ‘sold out’ – something not seen in over a year.
Deputy Director Nguyen Xuan Binh expressed hope that the attractive stimulus programs the City is implementing, which have already shown more positive signals than before, will draw a large number of tourists to choose Da Nang as their destination over the upcoming April 30 - May 1 holiday.

Mr. Nguyen Van Duan, Director of Muong Thanh Luxury Da Nang Hotel, said that previously, due to the impact of Covid-19, the hotel's occupancy was around 10%. However, occupancy has now risen to about 50% and is forecast to climb even higher over the upcoming holiday.
“At this point, about 80% of the hotel's rooms have been booked for the April 30 and May 1 holiday, which is a very positive sign. We are also offering price incentives, with a mega-sale 2-day, 3-night resort package at low prices for visitors,” Mr. Duan said.
According to a representative of Than Tai Mountain Hot Springs Park, visitor numbers have recovered following a series of stimulus programs. Specifically, nearly 10,000 visits were recorded from March 26 to April 15.
“Many tourists have chosen to holiday at resorts during the April 30 - May 1 holiday. Room bookings have so far reached around 80%. With the incentives businesses are offering visitors, we hope the number of guests coming to Da Nang for vacations will increase further in the coming period,” the representative shared.
Speaking to VietNamNet on April 16, Mr. Cao Tri Dung, Chairman of the Da Nang Tourism Association, said that after the city announced its tourism stimulus program in late March, visitor numbers rose very quickly.
“Visitor numbers have risen sharply compared with the same period in 2020 and have recovered to about 90% of the 2019 growth pace. Visitor sources are also more diverse: besides the two major markets of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, tourists from the Central and Central Highlands provinces are also coming to Da Nang,” Mr. Dung said.
Mr. Dung believes visitor numbers to Da Nang will rise further over the April 30 - May 1 holiday. At this pace, if the pandemic is well controlled and no new cases are recorded, the number of domestic visitors to Da Nang during this year's peak summer season is expected to exceed that of 2019 and 2020.
Doan Hung, Deputy Director of the Central Vietnam Airports Authority, said that flights to Da Nang have increased significantly recently, with around 160 arrivals and departures each day. For the upcoming holiday, domestic airlines are planning to add more flights to serve passengers.
